Boasting is usually frowned upon. In scripture, it is often referred to as vainglory. Some use it as a way to affirm themselves or put others down. It is usually self-centered and self-exalting. However, there is another kind of boasting that is “other centered.” That is when we recognize that in ourselves, we have nothing. Our boast, our glory is in Christ and His work on the cross. Rather than boasting in our limited abilities, we can boast in the greatness, the wonder and the awesomeness of God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit. Then we can truly experience the affirmation of knowing that the God of all Heaven is with us.
