One evil act is never fixed by another evil act. We are prone to be escalators. How we handle a crisis is indicative of our intimacy with God or lack of it. We are called to live a life that is counter-cultural. “A life that is a glorious contradiction to what the world calls normal.”
Even though Jacob had his name changed and had received blessings and had even been face to face with God the night before, Jacob’s meeting with Esau the next day was a mix of some good and some of Jacob’s flesh. The consequences of that lack of purity would have long-term impact.
